368 players took to the felt in the Main Event of the 2008 World Poker Tour Festa al Lago Tournament. As the final table of the event got underway, Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier had the chip lead with 6.42 million in his stacks. Nenad Medic had 3.025 was in second place and Nam Le held the third slot with 2.275 million chips. Also sitting at the table was Adam “Roothlus” Levy, who recently signed on with Ultimate Bet.

Levy, who had more than a handful of cashes at the 2008 WSOP, finished in fifth position. He earned $266,445 for his efforts and was knocked out by the pocket queens of Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier. Grospellier, who has had a stellar year, winning the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, coming in second at the WCOOP heads-up championship and more, also eliminated Medic from the competition. Medic, who won his first World Series bracelet this summer, already has a World Poker Tour title. He finished fourth this time and received fourth place and $373,010 this time.

In the end, Grospellier and Nam Le, recent winner of the APPT Macau High Roller Tournament, faced each other heads-up. ElkY had more than 15.6 million chips to Le’s 925k. Both players went all-in on the first three hands of heads-up play. On that third hand, Le showed Ad,Qh. Grospellier had 10s,10h. The board came down 10d,7s,6s,9h,Ks.

Le was out and Elky had his first WPT title.
